Please note that each of these pieces is handmade by an artisan.
Some areas may show iron spots (black dots) which are iron particles in the clay that oxidize during firing.
Additionally, small indentations (pinholes) may be present, but these are natural phenomena that occur during the firing process and are not defects.
Please enjoy them as part of the unique character of the piece.

Beautiful gradation created by the varying shades of glaze
A soft green that has a little depth but also a hint of sweetness.
It's a charming color that is calming yet subtly brightens up the dining table.
The approximately 13cm size is perfect for use as a small plate.
When serving small breads, scones, or tea cakes, it's perfect for a relaxing break.
Even a casually arranged dish looks as if it were carefully prepared when served on this plate.
It naturally blends with light-colored dishes like potato salad or shira-ae (mashed tofu salad), and when serving vibrant ingredients like tomatoes or red turnips, it harmonizes with their colors and fits perfectly on the table.
It's not overly flashy or assertive.
Yet, its mere presence softens the atmosphere of any dining table.
It's a vessel that brings a comforting feeling, making you want to reach out and touch it.

Kawai Mizuki
Kawai-san, who is from Aichi Prefecture, is currently creating pottery in Kyoto.
She has loved making things since she was a child. When considering university, she recalled making mud pies enthusiastically in sandboxes in her childhood and boldly chose the crafts course at Nagoya University of Arts.
After studying pottery at university, she worked for four years at a studio in Tamba Sasayama, Hyogo Prefecture.
In 2022, she became independent in Kyoto and officially started her own pottery activities.
Kawai-san's works feature exquisitely formed shapes that belie their creation on a potter's wheel, captivating with their feminine, soft colors and beautiful gradations.
Kawai-san originally preferred matte glazes and had created many pieces with them.
"One day, I was captivated by the subtly different expressions created within a single glaze due to firing and other conditions, and I wanted to express them."
Her current style, born from this desire, offers a myriad of expressions through the shading and bleeding of glazes, allowing for the enjoyment of nuanced depth.
Another charm is the lightness of her pieces, made from semi-porcelain.
They are easy to hold, blend into daily life, and add a gentle touch of color to the dining table.
