      Miho Ono

Ono Miho is a potter living in Saitama Prefecture.

She originally thought she would study design, but was attracted to the fact that she could complete all aspects of production by herself and that there were many opportunities to directly present her work to customers at exhibitions and craft events, so she decided to study crafts at university and pursue a career in pottery.
After coming into contact with a variety of materials, including metal and dyes, he was strongly drawn to ceramics, whose texture and appearance change with firing.

Ono's work is characterized by its openwork carving, which requires an exceptional level of concentration.

Before entering university, Ono was interested in graphics, and while exploring whether he could express something using lines on pottery, he gradually began to apply watermarks to the base material itself.

Fascinated by the beauty of the shadows and forms created by openwork patterns, she has continued to create this style of art since her student days.

After graduating from university, he worked on large-scale pieces such as objets d'art, but with a desire to create objects that are closer to everyday life, he has focused on creating tableware since around 2019.

The intricate and varied carvings and the charming appearance will make your heart flutter every time you see them.
This is a special dish in which even shadows look beautiful.
