[Before using the dish]
Ceramics are prone to absorbing water.
We recommend soaking it in water overnight before use.

For regular maintenance, wash with a sponge and dish soap and water, then rinse thoroughly.
After washing, it is important to dry thoroughly.
*Please avoid soaking for long periods of time.
Ceramics are highly absorbent, so the base will absorb dirt and cause mold and stains.

Some aspects, such as shape, degree of distortion, texture, and color, may not be clearly visible in the images.
Please note that each of these pieces is handcrafted by the artist.
Some areas may show iron spots (black dots) caused by the oxidation of iron in the clay during firing.
Additionally, small indentations (pinholes) may be visible, but these are natural phenomena that occur during the firing process and are not defects.
Please enjoy them as part of the unique character of the piece.

Akiko Hoshina of kiku, who creates pottery in Tokyo.
After enrolling in the Department of Spatial Design at Musashino Art University Junior College, pottery was one of the things she started, driven by the desire to "try everything I'm interested in while I'm a student."
After graduating from university, she worked as a flower coordinator, involved in decorating venues for weddings and other events, bringing color to many spaces.
Later, once her childcare responsibilities settled down, she started attending pottery classes again.
As she spent more time working with clay, her passion for pottery deepened, and she began exhibiting at various events.
In terms of "coloring a space," her previous job as a flower coordinator and her current work as a ceramic artist feel connected.
In her creative process, she constantly researches the characteristics of clay and glazes to bring her endless ideas to life, always pursuing new forms of expression.
The animal lidded jar series was born from a friend's suggestion, "Try making a Java sparrow!"
Each piece has an adorable expression and is full of charm that can't help but bring a smile to your face.
